Three arrests after police helicopter aids Ramsgate pursuit near Royal Victoria Pavilion Wetherspoon

A police helicopter was deployed as officers chased a vehicle through Ramsgate.

A number of police cars were involved in the pursuit, which came to an end near the Royal Victoria Pavilion Wetherspoon.

It resulted in the arrest of three men from the Portsmouth area who were taken into custody on suspicion of theft and driving offences.

The chase started after a vehicle failed to stop for officers when requested to do so in Grange Road at about 12.45am today.

It was then tracked - and followed by the helicopter - before being abandoned by its occupants in Harbour Parade.

After searching the area, police made the three arrests.

Each of the men are in their 30s.

They remain in custody and inquiries into the circumstances are ongoing.
