Police hunt knife-wielding teen after attempted robbery in Ramsgate

A knife-wielding teenager is being hunted by police after he tried to rob a man in an alley in Ramsgate.

The teenager, thought to be aged between 17 and 19, tried to steal the victim's mobile phone.

A man in his twenties was talking on his handset as he walked with a friend down an alleyway in Wilfred Road, towards the direction of Newington Road.

He reported that he ended his call and turned to see a man who demanded he hand his phone over, threatening him with a knife.

The victim refused, and he and his friend managed to run away and contact the police.

He sustained minor injuries to his arm and hand in the attempted robbery that happened at 5.30pm on December 18.

The suspect is around 5ft 7 inches tall, and was wearing dark clothing.
