Police investigating an attack on an eight-year-old boy and 17-year-old girl at Dreamland in Margate have recovered a catapult.

The pair were in the park on Friday afternoon when they were both hit.

Initial reports suggested they may have been shot at with a BB airgun but police have now ruled that out after discovering the catapult.

Park bosses closed the rides on safety grounds for around 30 minutes while officers were called and attended but neither of the victims needed hospital treatment.

Police say inquiries are continuing but no one has been arrested.
