Broadstairs man charged over betting shop robbery at Coral in Ramsgate

A second man has been charged in connection with a robbery in Ramsgate.

Police were called just before 2pm on Wednesday to reports of a cash raid at a Coral bookmakers in Newington Road, Ramsgate.

Ben Twyman, 29, of Westover Road in Broadstairs, was arrested by officers yesterday.

The Crown Prosecution Service later authorised charges against him of robbery, having a firearm with intent to commit a robbery, and assault of an emergency worker.

He remains in custody and is due to appear at Medway Magistrates' Court via virtual link today.

Luke Twyman, of Lancaster Close in Ramsgate, has also been charged in connection with the robbery and appeared at Medway Magistrates' Court on Friday.

He was remanded in custody to appear at Canterbury Crown Court today.
