Stolen bikes found in Broadstairs and Ramsgate prompt search for owners

Police have discovered six bikes they believe to have been stolen - and are now searching for their real owners.

Officers seized two of the bikes from an 18-year-old man in Fairfield Road, Broadstairs , after they stopped him during the early hours of Monday.

They also seized cutters, screwdrivers and broken locks.

The teenager was arrested and taken into custody on suspicion of theft.

Officers discovered another four bicycles following the search of a property in West Cliff Road in Ramsgate , all of which they believe may have been stolen.

The man arrested has been released pending further investigation and inquiries remain ongoing, which include efforts to identify the owners of the bikes.

Police are now asking for the owners of the bikes to come forward and identify their property, even if they had not reported their bike as stolen.
