Police shut seafront road amid concerns for person on roof in Ramsgate

A heavy emergency response was scrambled and a seafront road shut amid welfare concerns for a person spotted on a roof.

Fire, ambulance and police descended on Wellington Crescent, Ramsgate, yesterday at 8.49pm as traffic was diverted until 10pm.

A police spokesman said: “We were called at 8.49pm yesterday following concern for a person’s welfare in Wellington Crescent, Ramsgate.

“Officers attended along with South East Coast Ambulance Service and Kent Fire and Rescue Service and the road was closed while crews responded to the incident.

“The person was handed into the care of medical professionals and the road reopened at around 10pm.”
