A popular fast food chain claiming to cook “Kent’s best burger” is opening today in a former bank - with free food up for grabs.
The first 50 customers through the door at Chuck and Blade in Harbour Parade, Ramsgate, will get a meal on the house.
Based in a 128-year-old former Natwest building overlooking the sea, the sit-in venue will open from 5pm to 9pm.
Well-established in the county, the chain offers takeaway and table dining from four restaurants in Canterbury, Rochester, Crouch End and Tunbridge Wells.
On its Facebook page, the firm said: “It’s official - we’re ‘soft’ launching today.
“You can be one of the first 50 to get a free burger!
“No need to book, just rock up and sink your teeth into Kent’s best Burger 5-9pm for free.
“Plenty of local parking, we’re bang opposite the marina and 30 seconds from the beach.”
The menu includes double patty burgers with pulled brisket, dipping pots and Canadian poutine – typically made with french fries, cheese curd and topped with brown gravy.
Built in 1895, the building was once a Nat West, before becoming a Pizza Express and, more recently, another pizzeria called Travellers in Italy.
