Pomus in Margate set to open sister site Pom on the Pier on town’s harbour arm

The founder behind a popular town centre restaurant has announced plans to launch a second site.

Ryan Jacovides, who opened Pomus in The Centre, Margate, has revealed his latest project, a sister venue on the town’s harbour arm.

Set to be known as Pom on the Pier, or just Pom for short, the latest venture of a new kiosk restaurant and wine bar will provide a menu specially curated by Pomus' head chef, Aaron Costen, and will open later this month.

Favourites such as the chicken karaage with maple syrup and togarashi make the bill, alongside an impressive wine list, bar snacks and cocktails.

It will launch on Good Friday next to nationally acclaimed spot Sargasso, and offer 30 seats on its outdoor terrace.

Since the opening of Pomus in the summer last year, critics ranging from Queen Camilla’s son Tom Parker-Bowles to KentOnline’s Rhys Griffiths have been wowed by the plates coming from the kitchen.
