Former Ukip Thanet councillor Rozanne Duncan sparks further controversy with race comments on ITV show O'Brien

A former Ukip councillor expelled for making racist comments has sparked further controversy during an appearance on a TV show in which she said she could never be friends with a black woman.

Rozanne Duncan, who served on Thanet council, was expelled by Ukip last year after making racist comments.

KentOnline revealed she was turfed out after remarks made during behind-the-scenes BBC documentary, Meet The Ukippers.

While appearing in the audience on the new ITV daytime show O’Brien, she was asked how she felt towards black people.

Ms Duncan replied: “I can’t explain the discomfort I feel, I really can’t.”

Broadcast today, the programme shows a black woman in the audience, sitting just two seats away, asking Ms Duncan if she is "too close" and is making her feel uncomfortable.

Ms Duncan responded: "Not uncomfortable, no. But let’s put it this way, I wouldn’t form a friendship with her."

The woman in the audience replied: "It's not an option."

Ms Duncan was expelled from Ukip when she was filmed saying she was "absolutely" not racist, before commenting: "The only people I do have problems with are negroes".
