Gary Mickelborough (pictured) scored twice as Ramsgate strolled to a comfortable 3-0 win over Eastbourne Town at Southwood on Saturday.
Tom Tsangarides scored the other goal for Jim Ward’s side as they moved closer to the Ryman League Division 1 South play-off places. The win takes Ramsgate up to seventh in the table.
Ramsgate managed to win despite missing captain Warren Schulz and fellow influential player Simon Pettit. James Gregory and Liam Quinn were out through suspension and keeper Sam Mott suffered a back injury in the warm-up.
Despite the absentees the Rams took the lead on 33 minutes when Gary Lockyer flicked on a long ball and Mickelborough netted. He made it 2-0 just before the hour mark as he followed up a shot from Sam Jones.
With 15 minuets left Tsangarides rounded off the scoring after picking up a ball from Jones and dispatching it into the net.
