Ramsgate boxer Vinny Woolford, right, stopped Gavin Putney after two rounds on Friday Pictures: Peter Still

Being first on the bill did not seem to put Ramsgate's Vinny Woolford off his stride as he stopped Gavin Putney after two rounds at Medway Park on Friday.
Woolford twice put Putney down in the second and the Luton man failed to come out for the third after sustaining a rib injury.
"I was pleased with it," said Woolford. "I started off slowly and got caught early on but my right hand catched him almost every time and that was the key shot really.
"It he had carried on for the third he might have taken more of a beating so it was probably fair to pull him out."
Woolford, whose last two fights were at Torquay and Tyne and Wear, certainly appreciated being able to right close to home.
"I've travelled quite a bit on my last few fights and been up and down the country so a few more local ones like this will be much appreciated," he said.
"A lot of people came to support us so it was an amazing crowd, everyone cheered me on and it gave me a big lift.
"I've been itching for it for a few weeks so was glad to get a win and hopefully I can build on it.
"I was pleased to be first up. I was here nice and early, got warmed up and settled, and then I was able to enjoy the rest of the evening."
