All eyes will be on the skies above Margate as the world famous Red Arrows display team perform their first aerial show of the season at The Big Event this weekend.
The line-up for Saturday and Sunday's air and ground show at Palm Bay also includes a special tribute to the Battle of Britain, 70 years since it took place in the skies above Kent. Historic Spitfires will battle again with German planes in a specially choreographed display.
Alongside the Red Arrows and the Battle of Britain tribute is a full programme of flying on both days, complemented by a wide range of entertainment on the ground, including live music, street performances and entertainers.
A concert on the Saturday night, which will be at no additional cost to ticket holders on the day, features the Magic of the Beatles, with the evening rounded off by a fireworks display.
Margate's Big Event will be open from 10am-10pm on Saturday and from 10.30am-6pm on Sunday.
Admission costs £2 each day and tickets are available in advance from the Visitor Information Centre (VIC) at 12-13 The Parade, Margate. Children under five-years-old will be admitted free of charge. Event programmes are also available from the Margate VIC at a cost of £3.00.
Visitors to the event with large quantities of alcohol will refused entry and only assistance dogs will be allowed into this year’s event.
