The Thanet Way has been closed coast-bound for several hours after a serious crash in the early hours of the morning.

The accident happened between McDonald's and Cliffsend and emergency services are still at the scene.

Police said at 5am the road would remain shut for several hours, but at 8.30am officers said recovery and highways were at the scene and the dual carriageway will re-open soon.

The force also thanked motorists for their patience.
