Officers have now left the scene, and police have not named the shop involved, but it is believed to be Cuttings.

A witness said he believed two men entered the shop armed with planks of wood. It is thought they were wearing dark-coloured clothing, and may have been held inside the store.

They were then said to have tried to flee on a motorbike or moped, before running off and being caught by police.

No one is reported as being injured following the incident at around 10am today.
