POLICE say they hope an assault victim’s remarkable eye for detail will help them catch her attacker.
They have issued an e-fit of the man they wish to question. The 23-year-old woman was driving alone in Way Hill, Minster, Thanet, towards Foxborough Road when she saw a car parked at the side of the road. Its hazard warning lights were flashing and the engine was running.
The woman got out of her car and approached the driver to see if he needed any help. He wound down the window and she asked if he was lost. When he said no, she turned to go back to her own car.
The man the got out of his car and come up behind her. She again asked if he was lost, and he again said no, before pushing her up against her own car and indecently assaulting her. She pushed him to the ground and quickly drove away.
The man is white, in his mid to late 30s and 5ft 11in tall. He had short, straight dark brown hair with long sideburns. He was wearing a blue jacket with wide white panels under the arms and dark blue jeans.
His car was metallic silver, T-registered, and about the same size as a Vauxhall Astra or a small Rover. Hanging from the rear-view mirror was a green tree-shaped air freshener.
The attack happened at about 1pm last Monday. Anyone with information is asked to contact DC Sue Groombridge on Thanet 222142.
