Disabled Wesley Colbran is once again making plenty of noise in his treasured shed - thanks to Thanet Extra readers.

Wesley, who has quadruple cerebral palsy, was devastated to learn last year that the shed he uses as a music studio was rotting away and would have to be pulled down.

But our campaign to help him struck a chord with dozens of residents and businesses who rallied round.

Many of them turned up at the official re-opening of the garden studio in Ramsgate and were entertained by 29-year-old Wesley and his bandmates from the Strode Park Foundation, a disability charity in Herne Bay.

Thanet kmfm DJ Johnny Lewis, who promoted Wesley’s plight on his Thanet breakfast show, performed the opening ceremony.

"It was great to see him with a smile on his face and making such a racket again," he said.

Wesley's mum, Jane, said: "I just can’t thank everyone enough. We’re so grateful for the support."

Helpers included: O&S Sheds, Oliver Carpets, County Electrical Services, DC Homewood, Graham Twyman, the Lions Club, First Choice and Kevin De-Vito.
