Pubs in Margate were forced to close early last night after a group of drinkers became rowdy.

Police were called to the High Street just before 9pm on Wednesday to a report a group of people were behaving antisocially at one of the venues.

Officers attended and dispersed the group.

A police spokesman added: "The patrols also liaised with nearby licensed premises and a number of them took the decision to close to prevent possible breaches of the peace."
