Pop-rock group Scouting for Girls are to headline a popular food and drink festival next summer along with tribute acts of Queen, Abba and the Killers.
The three-man band will entertain crowds at Quex Park in Birchington as part of the Sausage and Cider Festival.
It is the first time the foodie fiesta will be held in Thanet and will next year feature not only live music and food stalls but also a silent disco, and on-stage food eating competitions.
Over 30 flavour of cider and 20 types of sausages will be on offer at the July event, but vendors will be dishing up many other food offerings, including gluten free and vegan options.
The event, on July 27, will also include a children’s disco, face-painters, and charter dress-up activities planned to keep the little ones entertained.
In addition to their performance at the festival, Scouting for Girls will be taking to another Thanet stage later in the year.
On October 11, the group, best known for hits such as She’s So Lovely, Heartbeat and Elvis Ain’t dead, will be playing at Margate’s Dreamland venue.
