A serious crash involving three cars forced the closure of a Thanet road for four hours.

Police and ambulance crews were deployed to the scene of the incident in Manston Road at 8.30am.

A woman was treated for injuries at the crash site and then taken to hospital for further medical attention.

The route remained shut in both directions between Shottendane Road to Woodchurch Road until just after 12.30pm.

None of the injuries are thought to be life-threatening.
