A teenage girl has been sexually assaulted in a park.

Police were called to Dane Park, Margate, shortly after 4.30pm yesterday following a report of the alleged attack.

A spokesman for the force said: "Officers attended the scene and arrested a 44-year-old man in connection with the incident.

"The man remains in custody and inquiries to establish the full circumstances are ongoing."
