Six fire engines and a height vehicle have been called to a derelict building fire in Ramsgate.
The incident in Boundary Road is believed to be affecting the old gas works site.
Firefighters were called just after 4pm and are still at the scene.
Crews wearing breathing apparatus are using hose reel jets, main jets, and water from a hydrant to put the fire out.
Kent Police is also in attendance.
Nobody has been injured but people living nearby are being asked to close windows and doors due to the large amount of smoke in the area.
Motorists are also being advised to take alternative routes due to the incident and road closures around the emergency response.
Kent Police has been approached for comment.
