Man arrested following disturbance in Northdown Road, Cliftonville

A man has been arrested following a disturbance this morning which reportedly saw six police cars at the scene.

Officers were called to an address in Northdown Road, Cliftonville at around 9am to reports a man was causing a disturbance.

Police attended and arrested a 28-year-old man from Margate on suspicion of criminal damage and assault.

He remains in custody while enquiries continue.

Residents reported seeing six police cars, a police van and a negotiator car at the road this morning but details of the disturbance have not yet been revealed.
