Now that Margate Soul Festival is only weeks away, the team behind this unique event are preparing to deliver another weekend packed full of soulful goodness.
The three day festival from Friday, August 4 until Sunday. August 6 will see Margate host more than 100 DJs across ten venues and feature live performances from an all-star international line up.
Acts appearing include Arrested Development, Gwen Dickey of Rose Royce, Trevor Nelson and The Blackbyrds.
Added to this lineup will be free activities taking place across the Old Town from midday on Saturday and Sunday, including - for the very first time - a spoken word, open mic and workshop corner located at the all new Beet Bar.
‘Spoken @ Margate Soul Festival’, will feature some of the biggest names to headline Margate’s Soul Food & Street Sonnets poetry night.
Festival founder Eli Thompson said: “The festival has gone from strength to strength, in spite of the tough times Margate has experienced, and continues to grow.
"Our festival partner Mi-Soul Radio, broadcasting on DAB, online and through mobile APP, has been a welcome voice projecting a consistently positive image of our town.”
Specially discounted tickets for local people living within Thanet are on sale now until 5pm on Thursday, July 6, priced at £50 for the full weekend programme.
Tickets can be purchased from the Margate Winter Gardens box office or by phone on 01843 292795.
Standard day and weekend tickets are available from £27.50.
