Daredevils can spend Halloween in one of the isle’s spookiest underground haunts.
The Shell Grotto in Grotto Hill, Margate, invites fearless visitors to venture inside for spine-tingling storytelling on Sunday, October 31, from noon to 3pm, when spiders, eyeballs and skulls will add a chilling dimension to the mystical caves.
Youngsters can also search for eerie shell spectres and create skeleton paintings and terrifying Halloween masks.
Prizes will be awarded for best fancy dress, so dress to distress.
Admission is £3 for adults, £2.50 for concessions and £1.50 for children, although the craft and storytelling events are free of charge.
All proceeds will go to the Friends of the Shell Grotto, an independent trust which helps raise money for essential conservation work at the Grade I-listed tourist attraction.
