Margate has been given the seal of approval by noughties TV actor Tom Lenk.
The performer, known for his role as Andrew Wells in iconic supernatural series Buffy the Vampire Slayer, shared an Instagram reel documenting his weekend by the seaside, calling the town a “great little get away.”
In the video, titled ‘A DFL Margate weekend’, Tom shows off his order from Skinny Dip Coffee on Northdown Road and tags popular brunch spot, The Greedy Cow Cafe.
The accompanying caption sings Margate’s praises: “A gorjus DFL weekend in Margate! It’s about an hour and a half on the train and such a great little get away!
“Take a plunge in the Victorian tidal pool, which makes you weirdly buoyant - maybe there’s more salt in there - and then run over to the community sauna and feel restored!
“Also the Skinny Dip Coffee was delicious and they have an amazing sourdough chocolate french toast and lovely cheesy buns with marmite which I didn’t know I would love?!”
After his lap round Margate’s tidal pool, Tommy, who has appeared in a slew of American TV shows such as House and How I Met Your Mother, took advantage of the sauna inside a converted Victorian bathing machine.
The actor shared a selfie showing him wearing a bathrobe on the shore with the message, “the waters of Margate have restored me.”
Later that day the TV star posted pictures of himself made up as his alter ego ‘Malibu Lou’ at Margate’s Dreamland amusement park.
Wearing a long blond wig, short shorts and roller skates, he posed in front of the roller disco.
The seaside town has welcomed many celebrities in recent years, including Little Mix’s Jade Thirlwall, David Schwimmer and couple Lily Allen and David Harbour.
