A street food takeaway famed for its signature pulled pork is opening a new premises.
Pork & Co, first launched by owner Sam Deeson in Canterbury in 2014, will open in Broadstairs high street in time for half-term at the end of May.
It follows a pop-up in Margate which has run for two years on The Sundeck by the main sands.
Mr Deeson, who attended Thanet's catering college - now East Kent College - says he has lived in Broadstairs for 20 years and is excited to bring Pork & Co to the town.
"Broadstairs has a feel of optimism and hope - there's a lot happening here," he said.
"We're really concentrating on Thanet at the moment.
"There are a lot of talented chefs coming into the area. I used to commute to London from here and now a lot of the guys are coming down to the coast."
Mr Deeson says the new premises will be a street food takeaway and norestaurantrant, although there will be some side benches to sit at, once allowed.
"I'm not going to give an exact date of when we'll be open, but I can say it will be at the end of May, in time for the half-term," he said.
"With each place the menu varies ever so slightly and we've got a new menu coming, but the most important stuff is our pulled pork and that will be there.
"Coming in the future is a line of hotdogs. We'll make our own buns and have only the best sausages."
Mr Deeson says Broadstairs has always been in his sights and he almost opened restaurant Deeson's in the town, before settling on Canterbury where he ran it for nine years until its closure in 2018.
He admits while the seaside town is thriving, it's a different story in Canterbury, which he says has sadly suffered due to Covid, Brexit and high shop rents.
Last year, he announced Pork & Co in Sun Street would not be reopening its doors for sit-down customers and instead focusing on its takeaway service.
