A teenager is in custody after crashing into a brick wall following a police chase.

The late-night pursuit happened in the early hours of this morning.

Officers were first called at about 6.10pm yesterday to a report that a car had hit a stationary vehicle in Kilbride Court, Ramsgate and left the scene.

The car was later seen in Haine Road at about 1.45am today, and refused to stop when requested by patrols.

The vehicle was pursued to London Road, where it hit a a brick wall.

An 18-year-old man from Ramsgate was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, driving with no insurance, drug driving, taking a vehicle without consent and failing to stop for police.

He remains in custody.
