A Thanet councillor pleaded guilty to two counts of drink driving when he appeared in court yesterday.
Cllr Ewen Cameron on Wednesday, after he was stopped by police at traffic lights in St Mildred's Road, Westgate-on-Sea.
The 52-year-old, of Canterbury Road, Westgate-on-Sea, was charged with drink driving and appeared at Margate Magistrates Court.
He pleaded guilty to the charge and admitted a similar offence in Broadstairs on August 20.
He was also accused of being in charge of a motor vehicle when the alcohol level was above the legal limit on August 11, but this charge has been dropped.
The case has been adjourned for pre-sentence reports until Monday, November 1. Cllr Cameron is on bail.
Cllr Cameron, a district councillor for the Bradstowe ward in Broadstairs, resigned as the Conservative whip at Thanet council earlier this year. He continues to represent local people as an independent councillor.
