Budding young chefs cooked up a storm when they entered into culinary battle for their school.
The 12 finalists of the Thanet School Recipe Challenge filled the kitchen with excitement and mouthwatering cookery smells as they took on the task.
Each pupil had to submit their own original recipe which included at least one of the Thanet Earth crops of tomatoes, peppers or cucumbers.
The finalists were then invited to East Kent College to cook their creation and impress the judges.
The winners were split into three age groups: six to eight, nine to 11 and 12 to 16.
The age six to eight category winner was Ryan Gittins from Minster Primary with his dish - our daily favourite tray bake.
Rhys Richardson from Cliftonville Primary took home first place in the nine to 11 age group with a spicy coconut and vegetable curry.
And East Kent College student James Beard was announced as the winner of the 12 to 16 competition after cooking a tomato carpaccio with grilled cheese and ham.
Each finalist was rewarded with a signed copy of judge Chetna Makan's recipe book along with a trophy and a commemorative apron.
The winners bagged a £300 Tesco voucher for their school, and they’ll see their recipe printed on cards at the store.
