Suspended sentence and unpaid work for Margate man

Bradley Stephen Pilcher, of Mere Gate, assaulted a man in The Silvers, Broadstairs, causing him actual bodily harm.

Magistrates sentenced the 24-year-old to 150 days in prison, suspended for two years, and ordered him to carry out 250 hours of unpaid work in the next year. He must also pay £750 compensation and £150 costs.

Multiple offender handed ban, curfew and suspended sentence

Ronald Egvert Day, of West Cliff Road, Ramsgate, took a Talbot caravan without the owner’s consent and drove it in Royal Road, Margate, without a licence and with no insurance. He also failed to provide a specimen of breath for analysis.

Another day, he used threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour towards a man at a social club in Broad Street, Ramsgate, causing him to fear violence.

He then had a quantity of cannabis on himn in Margate Road, Ramsgate.

On another occasion, he damaged an advertising sign worth £200 in Queen Street, Ramsgate.

Magistrates sentenced the 49-year-old to 180 days in prison, suspended for a year, banned him from driving for a year and a half and gave him a four month curfew to remain at an address in Westbrook Road, Ramsgate, between 9pm and 6am daily until August 23. He must also pay £500 compensation and an £80 fine.

Man with knife in public jailed

hugh James McGuinness, of Dane Mount, Margate, had a serrated kitchen knife in Dane Mount.

Magistrates sentenced the 46-year-old to 72 days in prison. He must also pay a £115 victim surcharge.

Prison for Birchington burglar

Michael Rowe, of Stringer Drive, burgled a garage at an address in Broadley Road, Margate, with the intent to steal.

Magistrates sentenced the 21-year-old to 120 days in prison. He must also pay a £115 victim surcharge.

Three year ban for drug driver

Andrew Weatherall, of Plover Close, Herne Bay, drove an Audi Avant in Reculver Road, Herne Bay, while unfit to drive through drugs.

Magistrates banned the 42-year-old from driving for three years. He must also pay a £600 fine, £300 costs and a £60 victim surcharge.

Suspended sentence for police officer assaulter

Phillip Weller, of Sandy Place, Ashford, assaulted two police officers at an address in Sandy Place, causing them actual bodily harm.

Magistrates sentenced the 57-year-old to 26 weeks in prison, suspended for two years. He must also pay £250 compensation, £150 costs and a £115 victim surcharge.

Drink driver banned

Anthony Harris, of Stanley Road, Broadstairs, drove a Jaguar in a supermarket car park in Westwood Road, Broadstairs, and gave a breath test of 81 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes.

Magistrates banned the 56-year-old from driving for a year and eight months. He must also pay a £110 fine, £85 costs and a £30 victim surcharge.

Unpaid work and ban for drink driver

James Edmondson, of Wittersham, Tenterden, drove a Volkswagen van in Robyn Hood Lane, Lydd, and gave a breath test of 89 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

Magistrates banned the 35-year-old from driving for a year and a half and ordered him to carry out 100 hours of unpaid work in the next year. He must also pay £85 costs and an £85 victim surcharge.

Driving offender in prison and banned

Simon Bennett, of Grace Hill, Folkestone, made off without paying for petrol worth £51 from a service station in Cheriton High Street, Folkestone.

On another day, he drove a Ford KA on the A249, Brenzett, while disqualified and with no insurance.

Magistrates sentenced the 27-year-old to eight weeks in prison and banned him from driving for two years.

Prison for police assaulter

James William Faragher, of Weymouth Road, Folkestone, assaulted a police officer at a bar in Cheriton Place, Folkestone.

Magistrates sentenced the 25-year-old to 19 weeks in prison. He must also pay a £115 victim surcharge.

Young driver banned

Tyler Michael Williams, of St Martin’s Road, Canterbury, drove a Ford Focus in New Haine Road, Broadstairs, and gave a breath test of 86 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

Magistrates banned the 21-year-old from driving for a year and eight months. He must also pay a £300 fine, £85 costs and a £30 victim surcharge.

Five year ban for one driver

Nicholas Gore, of Swallow Avenue, Whitstable, drove a Ford Focus in Old Thanet Way, Herne Bay, and gave a breath test of 60 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

Magistrates banned the 38-year-old from driving for five years. He must also pay a £600 fine, £85 costs and a £60 victim surcharge.

Three year ban and unpaid work for drink driver

Dainius Jankauskas, of Cliff Terrace, Margate, drove an Audi A4 in Cliff Terrace, while disqualified and with no insurance. He gave a breath test of 84 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

Magistrates banned the 42-year-old from driving for three years and ordered him to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work in the next year. He must also pay £85 costs and an £85 victim surcharge.

Six time offender jailed

Aaron Richards, of Fort Road, Hythe, used threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour and assaulted a woman at a hall in St Nicholas Road, Hythe.

Another day, he used threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour towards a woman at a shop in Horn Street, Folkestone.

He also stole numerous items worth an unknown amount and assaulted a woman at a shop in Bouverie Road West, Folkestone.

He then stole jeans worth £10 from a shop in Bouverie Place Shopping Centre, Folkestone.

Magistrates sentenced the 35-year-old to 180 days in prison. He must also pay £100 compensation.

Driving offender in prison

Liam Dellaway, of Dunstall Gardens, Romney Marsh, made off without paying for diesel worth £117.52 from a service station in Maidstone Road, Ashford.

Another day, he drove a Vauxhall Combo in Dymchurch Road, Romney Marsh, without a licence and with no insurance.

He also failed to stop the vehicle when required to do so by a police officer and made off without paying for diesel worth £82.71 from a service station in Dymhurch Road, Hythe.

Magistrates sentenced the 22-year-old to 180 days in prison. He must also pay a £115 victim surcharge.

80-year-old drink driver banned

Walter Bastow, of West Cliff Road, Broadstairs, drove an Audi SQ5 in St Peter’s Park Road, Broadstairs, and gave a breath test of 66 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

Magistrates banned the 80-year-old from driving for three years. He must also pay a £768 fine, £85 costs and a £76 victim surcharge.

Unpaid work for Minster man

Jordan Stanford, of Durlock, handled two stolen lawnmowers and a strimmer worth £565, a stolen strimmer worth £130 and a stolen strimmer and rotavator worth £400.

Magistrates ordered the 28-year-old to carry out 210 hours of unpaid work in the next year. He must also pay £547 compensation and £85 costs.

Kaspars Romka, of Royal Esplanade, Margate, drove a BMW 318 on the A256, Sandwich, and gave a breath test of 104 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

Magistrates banned the 32-year-old from driving for two years and two months and ordered him to carry out 140 hours of unpaid work in the next year. He must also pay £85 costs and an £85 victim surcharge.

Lenny Hough, of Goodwin Close, Deal, drove a Renault Scenic in High Street, Ramsgate, and gave a breath test of 110 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

Matthew Lonie, of Hyde Place, Aylesham, drove a BMW 320 on the A2, Wincheap, and gave a breath test of 106 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

Magistrates banned the 40-year-old from driving for two years and two months and ordered him to carry out 140 hours of unpaid work in the next year. He must also pay £85 costs and an £85 victim surcharge.

150 hours of unpaid work for one man

Normantery Clark, of Centenary Gardens, Sandwich, assaulted a man at a garage in Cannon Street, Deal, causing him actual bodily harm.

Magistrates ordered the 64-year-old to carry out 150 hours of unpaid work in the next year. He must also pay £2,000 compensation, £750 costs and an £85 victim surcharge.

22 time shoplifter in jail

Mark Timothy Lees, of Old Park Avenue, Canterbury, made off without paying a taxi fare worth £41, drove a Peugeot 201 while disqualified and with no insurance and assaulted a man and a woman.

Across less than three months, he stole a television, six sound bar speakers, three hoovers, men's clothes, seven fragrances, two perfume gift sets, bags, two speakers, baby clothes, alcohol, toys, baby items, two bomber jackets and denim jackets, totaling more than £2,500

Magistrates sentenced the 32-year-old to 360 days in prison. He must also pay £300 compensation.

Taxi driver assaulter charged

Richard Marc Floyd, of Gravelly Field, Ashford, made off without paying a taxi fare worth £10 in Cuckoo Lane, Ashford. He also assaulted the taxi driver and caused £1,065.12 worth of damage to a car door.

Magistrates sentenced the 30-year-old to 16 weeks in prison, suspended for a year, and gave him a six week curfew to remain at an address in Merlin Way, Ashford, between 8pm and 5am daily until June 13.

He must also pay £1,325 compensation, £85 costs and a £115 victim surcharge.

Chocolate shoplifter behind bars

Terence Alan Howard, of Ethelbert Crescent, Margate, stole chocolates worth £77.07 from a service station in Canterbury Road, Margate.

Another day, he stole a sat nav worth £100 from a vehicle in Northdown Park Road, Margate.

He stole four chocolate boxes worth £50 from a service station in Canterbury Road, Margate. He also stole chocolates and ready meals worth £46.37 from the same shop on a second occasion.

A different date stole chocolate worth £153.91 from the same service station.

Days on, he stole food items worth £138.12 from the same service station.

Magistrates sentenced the 44-year-old to 120 days in prison. He must also pay £85 costs and a £115 victim surcharge.

Ten year ban for one driver

Ojars Ivansins, of Down Court, Ashford, drove a Saab 93 in Beaver Lane, Ashford, and gave a breath test of 133 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes.

Magistrates sentenced the 43-year-old to 12 weeks in prison and banned him from driving for ten years. He must also pay a £115 victim surcharge.

Prison for assaulter

Jade Wood, of Towers View, Ashford, assaulted a woman at an address in Friesian Way, Ashford, causing her actual bodily harm.

Magistrates sentenced the 28-year-old to 26 weeks in prison. She must also pay a £115 victim surcharge.

Driving ban for Maidstone man

Peter Lockwood Mitchell Evans, of St Stephen’s Square, Maidstone, drove a Land Rover on the A260, Folkestone, without a licence and with no insurance.

He also gave a breath test of 97 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

Magistrates banned the 78-year-old from driving for two years. He must also pay £85 costs and an £85 victim surcharge.

Double offender in prison

Homeless Damien Ashley Jones assaulted a police officer at a shop in Hopeville Avenue, Broadstairs.

On another day, he had 6g of ‘spice’ on him in Margate.

Magistrates sentenced the 32-year-old to 12 weeks in prison. He must also pay a £115 victim surcharge.
