The Dinosaur Club for retired railway workers, families and friends raised £2,045.77 for the Margate hospice with a sponsored walk.

The trek from Broadstairs Bandstand to the Red Arrow Club in Ramsgate ended with a welcome buffet meal organised by club members.

The Pilgrims Hospice in Margate was chosen to benefit from the event because club members said many of them have been associated with the work and care carried out there in one form or another.

The sponsored walk was organised by Brenda Barnett, with help from her husband Ron (pictured holding the cheque) and many other club members.
