A popular stand-up skate and stand-up paddleboarding shop says it has had “no choice” other than to close down.

The shop, in Marine Gardens in the town centre, blased “the cost-of-living crisis” and “lack of footfall” for the decision to shut up shop. It comes just days after a micro-pub in Ashford put up the shutters also blaming the economic situation.
Store bosses said they were “sorry” to be forced into making the move and would be reducing the price of stock ahead of its final day of trading.
Making the announcement, the shop’s owners said: “It has been a very difficult decision but with the cost-of-living crisis and lack of footfall in Margate high street we really haven't had much choice and I know we are just one of many businesses suffering.
“We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who supported us on our journey and to the new friends we have made along the way.”
The store had been operating for almost two years.
