Three men have been charged after four suspected migrants were found adrift on a boat.
Border Force officers were sent to Ramsgate Harbour after four Iraqi nationals - including a pregnant woman and child - were found 8.5 miles out to sea on a fishing boat rescued by the RNLI.
The trio are to appear at crown court next month after being arrested last Thursday at the site.
They were questioned by Border Force officers and have since been charged with assisting unlawful entry to the UK.
Jake Sesay, 20, of Harrow Road, Clacton, and Bradley Runer, 37, of Central Walk Road, Canvey Island, were released on bail after a hearing at Canterbury Magistrates' Court on Saturday.
The third - 67-year-old John Sheppard of Radwinter Road, Saffron Walden - was remanded in custody.
All three will appear at Canterbury Crown Court on September 10.
The pregnant woman found on the boat was taken to hospital as a precaution.
