Police investigating a suspected arson are trying to trace three people who were spotted riding a scooter near the scene of the fire.
The blaze broke out at a garden shed in Tomlin Drive, Margate, at 5.35pm on Sunday before spreading to nearby homes - prompting a rescue mission to save two dogs.
Four fire engines were called to the scene, where crews fought to extinguish the flames for almost four hours.
They initially searched one of the affected homes due to fears people were still inside.
But officials confirmed everyone had been accounted for except two dogs that were rescued from the buildings.
No injuries were reported, but several people required treatment for smoke inhalation.
Police are now appealing for witnesses to come forward.
They are particularly keen to trace three people on a blue and silver scooter, seen riding down Tomlin Drive at the time of the incident, who they believe may have information that could help them.
A spokesman said: "People who were driving in the area at the time of the fire and have dashcam footage are also encouraged to get in touch.
After arriving at the incident on Sunday, crews searched one of the affected premises as there were fears people were still inside.
