More on KentOnline
Send us your selfies and you could win a host of prizes.
We are teaming up with Turner Contemporary to celebrate their new exhibition Self: Image and Identity which runs from Saturday, January 24, until May 10 and features self-portraits in all of their forms from Van Dyck’s traditional framed Self-portrait or a selfie with a creative twist like Louise Bourgeois’s self-portrait as a cat from 2007.
Whether it is traditional selfie or one that is a bit different, send us your pictures with a line about why it best describes you.
If your picture demonstrates why you love Thanet, all the better.
The winning selfie will appear in the Thanet Extra and our www.kentonline.co.uk/thanet website.
The winner will win a goody bag of selfie-related products from Turner Contemporary’s shop worth £40, including a Van Dyck tote bag, a camera lens mug, a fish eye lens for mobile phone, a macro lens for mobile phone, a selfie Remote and a free family workshop session of your choice at Turner Contemporary for up to four people.
Turner Contemporary’s Monique Kent said: “We are looking for creative selfie flair. We want imaginative and innovative self-portraits that best represent you. Good luck!”
To kick off the competition, presenters from our sister radio station kmfm have sent us their selfies.
You can listen to their shows by tuning in to 107.2fm or by logging on to kmfm.co.uk
To enter, email your selfie to thanetextra@thekmgroup.co.uk with your name, address, a daytime telephone number and a line about why it best describes you.
You can also send us your selfies via Twitter by using the hashag #TCselfie or post it on our Facebook page. Search Thanet Extra.
The competition closes at midnight on February 17 and the winners will be chosen by judges from the Thanet Extra and the Turner Contemporary.
