TV presenter George Lamb is heading to a popular coffee bar in Broadstairs to talk about his new community farming initiative.
His visit forms part of the new Salon at Smiths series, held at the cafe in Dundonald Road, which is being launched on Saturday.
The broadcaster, who previously presented BBC Radio 6 Music show, started farming scheme GROW in the summer, an education programme giving children the opportunity to interact with nature and learn about nutrition, while providing a sustainable source of food for schools and the community.
His talk is the first of the new series of events at Smiths, which will involve speakers discussing topics over wine, cheese and charcuterie.
Emma Smith says it will be an opportunity for people to talk to speakers with inspirational ideas and listen to quirky or unusual subjects.
"Or just to hear something that you haven’t heard before," she added.
"A successful Salon will send the audience away with food for thought or even inspiration to open up a doorway into something new and interesting."
To book a place email emma@smithscoffeebar.co.uk or pop into Smiths. Tickets are £15.
The talk with George Lamb runs from 7pm-9pm.
