Two injured after collision in College Road, Margate

Two people have been hospitalised following a collision in Margate yesterday.

The incident occurred when a red motorcycle collided with a blue Ford transit van travelling in the opposite direction along College Road .

The rider of the motorcycle, a man in his 40s, and the passenger, a woman in her 30s, both received serious injuries and were taken to a London hospital.

The driver of the van, a 56-year-old man from Broadstairs, aided police with their investigation into the incident, which happened at about 8.20pm.

He has since been released pending further enquiries, and investigating officers are appealing for witnesses.
