Two men have been charged with burgling a Co-op store.
Police rushed to the supermarket in Summerfield Road, Margate, just after midnight last Wednesday, after reports cigarettes and alcohol had been stolen.
Sean Phipps, 39, from Margate, and Terry Howard, 47, of no fixed address, have both since been charged with burglary.
They appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court via videolink yesterday.
Mr Phipps was remanded into custody and Mr Howard was bailed until a court appearance on August 5.
As part of the investigation into the supermarket burglary, police also arrested a 47-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman from Margate on June 12 on suspicion of handling stolen goods.
They have been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
