Planning permission has been granted for Dreamland's new ultimate thrill ride, the Dreamland Drop.
An adrenaline fuelled 'shoot up and drop' tower, the ride will rotate 360°, offering a panoramic view of the park and surrounding Margate, before giving thrill seekers a high speed drop of 36.5 metres.
The ride will be custom built for the theme park, with Dreamland lettering running down the side.
Installation work is expected to start in early June, with the ride anticipated to be ready for the school summer holidays.
Steve Gotkine, chief operating officer at Dreamland, said: “We’re delighted that planning permission has been granted for the Dreamland Drop and are really looking forward to adding to Margate’s already iconic skyline.
"This is such an exciting year for Dreamland as not only will we welcome this thrilling new experience to the park, we will also be unveiling eight other new rides, ranging from thrill seeker to family fun.
"We can’t wait for people to be able to come down and enjoy them all as they soak up the fun, festival atmosphere at Dreamland.”
The Dreamland Drop is part of a series of nine new rides that Dreamland is introducing this year.
