A man has been charged with burglary after war medals, a safe and jewellery were swiped from a house.

Police were called to the property in the St Lawrence area of Ramsgate on October 10 after reports of a burglary.

Following an investigation by the Chief Constable's Crime Squad, Kirk Holt was arrested in Margate yesterday.

The 30-year-old, of Wherry Close, Margate, has since been charged with burglary and appeared before Medway Magistrates' Court this morning.

He was remanded in custody to appear before Canterbury Crown Court on November 23.
