A woman was left in shock after a stranger paid for her shopping in a random act of kindness at Aldi.
Emma Morris had unloaded her trolley at the chain's Ramsgate store when the man - who was with his family - offered to cover the cost without explanation.
She took to Facebook to share details of the selfless act on the New Thanet Chat residents' group.
In the hope of tracking down the mystery do-gooder, she posted: "A message for the selfless, kind man that insisted on paying for my shopping about 5.30pm today in Aldi Ramsgate for absolutely no reason.
"I’m sorry I didn’t get your name. I didn’t know how to react due to shock but I am so grateful.
"You made my day. I noticed you and your family in the shop, you all seemed so happy and excited about something!
"If you see this know how thankful I am and whatever you guys are up to now I hope you got enough vodka!"
Fellow shopper Kay Richmond witnessed the gesture on Thursday.
She wrote: "I was in Aldi at the same time and saw this act of kindness. I was in the queue - how wonderful and kind."
Jon Vaughan joked: "If anyone wants to pay for my shopping I'll be in Tesco's about 6pm with a trolley full of Stella hanging around the self service."
