A restaurant in Thanet has taken a novel approach to raising the mood in the town - by offering a complimentary roll of toilet paper with some deliveries.

Secret Spices is offering a roll of Andrex for every takeaway meal over £25 pounds, while stocks last.

Rukshana Begum, who handles the social media accounts for her brother Raj Ali's restaurant, said the offer served a lot of different purposes.

She said: "Everyone needs a laugh right now, and we thought this would be a great way to bring that about.

"Having said that, this one funny post has got more attention than any of our serious ones, and we have actually got more customers from it.

"My brother is actually getting ready to go and deliver some food and a toilet roll as we speak.

"One thing that I think is that some people could take this the wrong way - that's the last thing we want.

"We're not trying to offend anyone or start any kind of debate, we are trying to lighten ourselves up at this very difficult time.

"As with so many people in the industry, our little business has been hit hard by the recent events.

"We all need to stay positive, especially if this goes on for a long time."
