X Factor crews have today made the most of Thanet's coastline by shooting part of a promotional video in Broadstairs.

Arrived early at Dumpton Gap, the team included Kevin Davy White, who was one of last year's finalist.

Thanet District Council confirmed that the ITV1 show had requested permission to film this morning.

A TDC spokesman said: "The crew are filming for X Factor, which returns to ITV1 in September.
"They contacted us for permission to take a vehicle onto the promenade and the grass to get some promotional film for the new series.
"They filmed for the morning and managed to capture an amazing sunrise."

The popular singing show is set to return next month with Robbie Williams, Ayda Field and Louis Tomlinson joining Simon Cowell on the judging panel.

It's been showbiz central in Thanet this week, with pop star Peter Andre also spotted filming in the district.

He was seen in Ramsgate recording with Joe Pasquale as part of the Celebrity Antique Road Trip programme on Monday.
