A man has spoken of his disgust after yobs spat at him and his partner from a car park roof.
Three young people were seen trying to spit on passers-by, from the top of Mill Lane multi-storey in Margate this afternoon.
Carl Kitto was aimed at as he left the car park at about 3pm, and says he is revolted by their actions, especially given the prevalence of Covid-19.
"I was completely disgusted that it happened during a pandemic, when spitting on someone could be even more impactful to our health," said Mr Kitto, a 24-year-old from Rainham who had been on a day out in Margate with his partner.
"We had just parked up inside and I ran back to the car as I’d forgotten my mask and my partner was waiting on the exit by the door," he explained.
"When we walked out we noticed large pieces of what did look like spit on the ground.
"I looked above and noticed three what looked like young teenagers trying to spit down on us.
"I heard them spitting and laughing. Luckily it had just missed us.
"I’d walked further away but was so disgusted by the situation I’d walked back again to try and capture a picture of it. They were still spitting and laughing when I grabbed the picture.
"Could have been very dangerous - not sure how they got up there."
Mr Kitto took to Twitter to warn other people in Thanet.
He wrote: "Anyone in Margate be careful. Group of teenagers on the roof of the Mill Lane multi storey car park spitting down on people passing by or coming out of the car park. Disgusting."
Police have been approached for more information.
