A train line was closed after trespassers dumped tyres along a stretch of tracks.
Police were called to the incident at a railway near Dane Valley Road, Margate, at about 3.10pm today.
The tyres were removed after officers arrived - but those involved in the fly-tipping were not found during a search of the area.
Commuters travelling between Margate and Broadstairs were told to expect delays by Southeastern earlier this afternoon.
However, the firm confirmed it had reopened the line just before 4pm.
A spokesman for the company said: "We were advised that the line had been reopened, so that trains were able to get moving again."
