A 12-year-old girl is seriously ill in hospital today after being hit by a car as she crossed a road in Birchington.
Police are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen the crash at around 4.50pm yesterday.
The schoolgirl is thought to have been crossing the road when she was hit by a red Renault Clio.
She is thought to have been hit just outside the King Elthebert School, but it is not known if she is a pupil.
She remains in a serious condition after being flown to a London hospital.
No arrests have been made, but witnesses who are yet to speak to officers are asked to call the witness appeal line on 01622 798538.
