Your chance to take part in major Oliver! production

The call has gone out for local people to become involved in what promises to be one of the biggest theatrical events ever to be staged in Thanet.
In a departure from traditional Christmas entertainment, The Margate Winter Gardens is staging a massive community production of Lionel Bart’s “Oliver!” running for two weeks over the holiday period.
The show is being conceived on a grand scale with the cast expecting to number several hundred. The producers are inviting all local people to become involved, regardless of previous experience. And the good news is that there are no intimidating auditions to pass – director Sarah Dean says “anyone who wants to be in the show can – all you have to do is be over six years of age and there is no upper age limit!”
Principal parts will be allocated from within the cast, but there are enough opportunities for chorus roles to accommodate all comers. So if you ever fancied singing “Who Will Buy?” or asking Mr Bumble for more “Food Glorious Food” – this is your chance.
To be part of “Oliver!” all you have to do is get a registration pack and go along to the Winter Gardens on Sunday June 14 (11am to 3pm) or Monday June 15 (6pm to 9pm) to put your name down. Rehearsals will be at weekends during the autumn, with the performances running from December 20.“This is a unique opportunity for experienced local actors, or indeed anyone who has ever wondered what it was like to perform in a musical, to be part of a wonderful production. We hope we will have entire families taking part” says Sarah.
Registration packs and further details can be downloaded from the web site www.oliverwintergardens.co.uk , or by post from Oliver Registrations, 75 The Street, Sholden, Deal, Kent CT14 0AJ, or by email from sylvia@oliverwintergardens.co.uk alternatively you can call Sylvia Sims on 01304 361919.
