Former skipper Charlie Allen has made a surprise return to Margate on a six-week deal.
The 23 year-old left Hartsdown Park in the summer after his contract expired, having helped the club clinch promotion to Vanarama National League South, looking to find a club closer to his home in Oxford.
Boss Terry Brown said: " I am delighted to see Charlie here. He is the fittest player I know and he will add some much needed legs and hopefully some goals in midfield."
Allen scored 13 goals last season, despite missing two months of the season due to a knee injury.
He goes straight into the Gate squad for the home Kent Senior Cup tie against Tonbridge Angels on Tuesday night.
