Nikki Bull may have limited options but intends taking his time over naming his final 11 to face Hemel Hempstead in the crucial Vanarama National South clash at Hartsdown Park.
Gate go into their final home game of a turbulent season on and off the field just one place above the relegation zone on the back of 10 successive defeats.
Hemel arrive needing a point to confirm their play-off place, but Bull hasn't had them watched.
He admitted: " The last two games which I did scout the opposition I put things in place and we were 2-0 down in the first 10 minutes.
Bull hinted he may draft in some of the club's youngsters, saying: "I haven't started to think about my team, but every place is up for grabs."
He added: "For me the game is more about personal pride. Have the players got self respect for themselves and the club, the will to win and the intensity needed for a game like this?
Gate find themselves on the cusp of a return to the Ryman League less than a year after the euphoria of their play-off final win over Hendon.
Bull said: "It's been a woeful season, we awfully underachieved before Christmas, we got back on track back on for two months, before dropping away
" I have heard people have said we would be better off going down, because it would cost less money, but nobody behind the scenes wants that."
Two of Gate's fellow strugglers Hayes and Yeading and Bath, who lost 3-1 at Whitehawk on Tuesday, face each other, while Havant and Waterlooville travel to Concord.
