Paul Barnes has quit as first team coach at Margate and manager Nikki Bull admits he can't really blame him.
Barnes said his goodbye to players and staff at training on Thursday night saying he was no longer enjoying his role at Hartsdown.
Boss Bull, who appointed Barnes in June, admitted he was sorry to see his colleague go but said he fully understood his reasons.
He acknowledged that the environment in which Barnes had been working was 'totally different' to the set up he joined at Hartsdown in the summer.
He added: "Barnsey said he was not enjoying it anymore and I can't really blame him. He said when he came to us in the summer there was a structure to things.
"Paul's very methodical, he plans his sessions but in the past couple of months he said he's been coming to training and regularly seeing faces he doesn't know.
"Players have been coming and going left, right and centre and he's not been enjoying the environment. He feels he's not been getting anything out of it and that he's not been adding anything either.
"I would like to place on record my thanks for all his hard work. He always conducted himself in a very professional manner and I wish him all the best for the future."
